Sol Lewitt

Solomon "Sol" Lewitt was an American minimalist artist. He is most famous for his wall drawings and 'structures.' The structures are Lewitt's three dimensional work. His work began as mostly geometric neutral colored forms and eventually evolved into curved and highly saturated forms. The wikipedia article about Sol Lewitt can be found here.

Leonid Afremov

Dale Chihuly

Dale Chihuly was enrolled in the first glass program in the country at the University of Wisconsin. He has received a Fulbright Fellowship and worked in the Venini glass factory in Venice. His work has been shown in over 200 museum worldwide and he has received 11 honorary doctorates. His website can be found here.

Piet Mondrian vs. Pacita Abad

Piet Mondrian(1872-1944) was a modern Dutch artist. He was a part of the De Stijl group. The style he painted in became known as Neoplasticism, and his paintings are now famous. His most famous paintings depict black lines and blocks of primary colors. His paintings followed specific rules.

Pacita Abad, on the other hand, does not seem to follow rules. Abad was born in the Phillipines. Her website says that her painting is "characterized by constant change experimentation and development.

Ann Marie Bone

This woman not only makes beautiful art but has an awesome name too ;)
Her paintings contain a rainbow of color and are very ethereal and inspiring. Ann Marie lives in the United Kingdom and graduated from Nottingham University in 1983.
